NUR 705 Nurse Research, Statistics and Evidence Based Practice
Course Objectives:Â
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Understand the differences among nursing research, quality improvement and EBP processes;
Evaluate different research methods for both quantitative and qualitative studies
Critically appraise different types of research studies to determine their quality, strength of evidence and applicability to clinical practice;
Interpret descriptive and inferential statistical results;
Evaluate different statistical methods for various types of research questions/hypotheses, designs and data.
Apply appropriate critical steps of evidence-based practice to a clinical nursing problem;
Synthesis research evidence to integrate with patient preference and clinical expertise
Propose strategies to promote evidence-based practice to improve quality and safety in advanced nursing practice.
